How to Use a Full-Body Red Light Therapy Mat at Home

For the current rePretty Mat, unfold it on a dry supported surface, connect the mat, controller, and supplied adapter, then start at P1 or P2 for 10 minutes. Use it three times in the first week; if comfortable, move toward 15 to 20 minutes, three to five times weekly. Keep the controller within reach and never exceed 90 minutes.

In this guide

A repeatable setup is more useful than changing every setting at once.

  • Start low and short
  • Keep direct contact and eye guidance clear
  • Power down, wipe, and store without sharp folds

Evidence snapshot

10 minutesConservative first session

Use P1 or P2 and keep the first week simple enough to notice comfort and device behavior.

3 timesFirst-week frequency

Space the first sessions rather than stacking them on the same day.

90 minutes maxManual session limit

The controller supports longer timers, but the manual says not to exceed 90 minutes per session.

01

A seven-step setup

Unfold the mat on a dry, flat, supported surface. Inspect the mat, cable, connectors, controller, and adapter. Connect the mat to the controller and the controller to the supplied adapter before connecting power. Keep cables away from walkways and the controller within reach.

  • 1. Unfold on a dry supported surface.
  • 2. Inspect the surface, connectors, cable, controller, and adapter.
  • 3. Connect the mat to the controller.
  • 4. Connect the controller to the supplied adapter and power.
  • 5. Choose P1 or P2, a mode, and a 10-minute timer.
  • 6. Keep the controller within reach and stop if uncomfortable.
  • 7. Power off, unplug, wipe, dry, and store without sharp folds.

02

Direct skin, clothing, and eye protection

The current manual says the treatment area may be exposed directly to the light. Thin clothing or underwear may be used for comfort or hygiene, although fabric can reduce the light reaching the skin.

Do not stare directly into the LEDs. Follow the eye-protection instructions for the exact product and keep the device controls within reach.

03

What the three modes do

Continuous mode keeps the selected LEDs steadily on. The 10 Hz and 40 Hz modes pulse the output ten or forty times per second. The controller also provides five power levels and timer choices from 10 to 90 minutes in 10-minute steps.

Start with the mode that feels most comfortable, keep it consistent for the first few sessions, and change one setting at a time while learning the device.

04

How to progress after the first week

If the first three sessions were comfortable, progress to 15 or 20 minutes, three to five times per week. Change only one variable at a time: duration, power level, or mode. Do not stack multiple long sessions on the same day.

If warmth, redness, eye discomfort, unusual fatigue, or another unexpected reaction appears, stop and reassess before increasing anything.

05

Cleaning and storage

Disconnect power before cleaning. Wipe the TPU surface gently with a damp soft cloth or alcohol wipe, do not machine wash or submerge it, and allow it to dry completely. Store it cool and dry, protect the connectors, and avoid sharp folds or heavy objects on top.
